Workbook Reading

The converter reads the workbook structure: sheets, cells, values, formulas results, styles, images, charts, page setup, and hidden rows or columns.

It usually exports visible results rather than live formulas, because PDF is a static document format.

Page Layout Decisions

The converter applies print areas, page size, orientation, margins, scaling, and page breaks to decide how the spreadsheet fits onto PDF pages.

Wide sheets may be scaled down or split across pages depending on the workbook settings.

PDF Rendering

After layout is resolved, Excel to PDF renders the visible spreadsheet into PDF pages. For preparation details, start with the Excel to PDF guide.

The final PDF is fixed: recipients can view and print it consistently, but they cannot use formulas as they would in Excel.
