FAQ

JWT Decoder

Can DevME verify JWT signatures?
DevME decodes and displays the JWT header, payload, and all claims in readable format. Signature verification requires the signing secret or public key — DevME intentionally does not request these to protect your credentials.
Is it safe to paste a production JWT into a browser-based decoder?
DevME processes all tokens locally in your browser — nothing is transmitted to any server. That said, JWTs may contain sensitive user claims. For production tokens, DevME is safer than third-party services that may log token contents.
Which JWT algorithms does DevME support for decoding?
DevME decodes tokens using any signing algorithm — HS256, HS384, HS512, RS256, RS384, RS512, ES256, and others. Decoding only requires the token itself; no algorithm selection or key input is needed.

Most free tools make money by processing and analyzing the contents of your files. We don't. DocsMe was built with local document processing as a first-class feature, not an afterthought.
