FAQ
PDF to TXT
- Does PDF to TXT extraction preserve the reading order?
- Text extraction follows the PDF's internal content structure. Single-column PDFs extract in correct reading order. Multi-column layouts may output text in a different sequence — use the PDF to Word converter for structured documents.
- Can I extract text from a scanned PDF?
- Scanned PDFs are image-based and require OCR for text extraction. ConvertME processes text-layer PDFs and may extract limited text from scanned documents depending on embedded metadata.
- What encoding is the output TXT file in?
- Output files use UTF-8 encoding, supporting all standard characters including accented letters, currency symbols, and most non-Latin scripts.
Most free tools make money by processing and analyzing the contents of your files. We don't. DocsMe was built with local document processing as a first-class feature, not an afterthought.
