FAQ

PNG to JPG

Will converting PNG to JPG reduce image quality?
JPG uses lossy compression, so converting from lossless PNG to JPG does reduce some quality. At 80–90% JPG quality the difference is imperceptible. The trade-off is a significantly smaller file size.
When should I convert PNG to JPG?
Use JPG for photos and complex images where file size matters and transparency is not needed — social media uploads, email attachments, and web images. Keep PNG for logos, icons, and images with text or transparency.
My PNG has a transparent background — what happens when I convert to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with white (the default background color) during conversion. If you need to keep transparency, do not convert to JPG.

Most free tools make money by processing and analyzing the contents of your files. We don't. DocsMe was built with local document processing as a first-class feature, not an afterthought.
