How to Remove White Margins From a PDF

White margins often come from scanners, print-to-PDF settings, slide exports, or source files designed for a different paper size. The content is correct, but the visible page area is larger than needed.

Open Crop PDF and move the crop boundary just inside the unwanted white margin. Keep enough space around headers, footers, page numbers, and signatures so they do not look clipped.

For consistent exported files, applying the same crop to every page is usually safe. For scanned packets, check several pages first because the paper may have shifted during scanning.

A perfectly tight crop can look good on screen but fail in print if a printer adds non-printable margins. Leave a small buffer around the content, especially for documents that will be printed or signed.

If page numbers or footnotes sit close to the edge, test one page before applying the crop to the entire document.

Removing margins does not always change the underlying paper size. It changes the normal visible area. If a platform requires exact dimensions such as A4 or Letter, you may need resizing after cropping.
