Does cropping a PDF reduce quality?

No. Cropping changes the visible page boundary. Text, vectors, and images are not recompressed simply because the page is cropped.

Does cropping delete content outside the crop area?

Usually, no. Many PDF crops hide content outside the crop box but keep it in the file. Use redaction, not cropping, when you need to permanently remove sensitive information.

Can I crop all PDF pages at once?

Yes. Crop PDF can apply one crop boundary to all pages when the margins are consistent. For scanned documents, preview several pages first.

What is the difference between crop box and media box?

The media box is the full page boundary stored in the PDF. The crop box is the normal visible area. Cropping usually changes the crop box while the media box may remain unchanged.

Why do white margins still show after cropping?

The document may have inconsistent page margins, the viewer may be scaling to paper, or another page box may be used for display. See crop PDF troubleshooting for details.

Can I undo a PDF crop?

If the crop only changed page boxes, some editors can adjust the crop again. Still, the safest workflow is to keep an original copy before cropping.

Is browser-based PDF cropping private?

With PDF ME, cropping runs in your browser, so the file is handled locally instead of being uploaded to an external server.
